Q: Can anyone take part in the fun run?
A: Yes, but children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Roller skates, bicycles, wheelbarrows and pushchairs are not permitted.
Q: What is the minimum age for entering the half marathon?
A: Anyone who will be aged 17 or older on or before the event date may apply for entry to the half marathon.
Q: Do you accept wheelchair entries?
A: Yes, we are pleased to accept self-propelled wheelchair users. However, hand cyclists are not permitted.
Q: I have registered with a charity. Do I need to submit a Perkins Great Eastern Run entry form?
A: The Perkins Great Eastern Run encourages runners to support charities; however runners must remember to register with us to ensure they are allocated a race number. Failure to register with The Perkins Great Eastern Run will result in not receiving a race pack and individual race number and therefore being unable to take part.
Q: Can I collect for charity on the day of the race?
A: Runners who wish to collect for charity as they run, may do so providing they first obtain a licence from Peterborough City Council. There is no cost for the licence. Contact 01733 452288 for further details.
Q: How do I advise you of my medical information?
A: When completing your entry form, please include details of any medical conditions and when you receive your race pack, please complete the form on the reverse of your t-shirt race number, following the instructions given.
Q: How long is the course?
A: The half marathon is 13.1 miles and the fun run is 4 km.
Q: Am I able to have a refund or deferral if I am unable to run?
A: No, there will be no refunds once you have entered the race. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions concerning transfers and deferrals..
Q: I have changed my address since entering; can I change my contact details?
A: All amendments to personal details will be charged a £5 administration fee, please telephone 01733 207212. Please note that replacement packs will only be issued during September or on race day.

Q: When will I be sent my race pack?
A: Race packs will be sent out on a weekly basis. If you enter before the end of July you should receive your race pack by mid August. Race packs should then be received within 3 weeks of your entry being received. If you have not received your pack within this timescale please contact the Race Office on 01733 207212. Packs despatched in August and September will be sent by 2nd class post; packs despatched later will be sent out by 1st class post.
Q: Where can participants and spectators park on race day?
A: All entrants will receive a parking permit for use in any of the council owned car parks. There are many car parks around the city that spectators can use.
Q: How far away is Peterborough train station?
A: It is about a 10 minute walk to the start/finish area from the train station: head for the city centre then follow the signs to the Key Theatre
Q: Is there anywhere I can leave my bags during the race?
A: Yes. A baggage tag with a number on it corresponding to your race number is included in your race pack. If you intend to use the baggage collection service please ensure this tag is tied securely and visibly to your baggage. Secure storage will be available at the start/finish area. You must show your race number upon collection.
Q: What should I do if I lose my race number or timing chip?

If you lose your race number and timing chip in October, please go to the information desk located in the Key Theatre on race day to have another one issued. You will need to bring proof of entry: please print out the relevant 'check you are in' page showing your details.
Q: What time will the race start?

Q: What will I receive if I enter and finish the race?
A: Half marathon finishers will receive a medal, technical t-shirt and a goody bag. Fun run finishers will receive a medal.
Q: What refreshments are available on the course?
A: We have water stations at 3, 6, 9, 11 miles and at the finish area.
Q: Are there any first aid points along the course?
A: Yes, fully qualified first aiders will be located at every water station. St John Ambulance Service and NHS Paramedics will be on the course and fully a equipped treatment centre will be located at the finish. All medical services will be under the control of a Medical Director.
Q: Are toilets available on the route?
A: Male, female and disabled toilets are located at the start/finish area and at each water station.
Q: Will physiotherapy be available?
A: Yes, physiotherapists will be on hand in the finish area and treatment will be carried out by Fitzwilliam Hospital.
Q: Are their changing facilities available?
A: Yes, a male and female changing marquee is available at the start/finish area.
Q: What time do roads start closing and when do they reopen?
A: Roads along the course will be closed from 9.30am until approx 2.00pm. At 2.00pm the finishing line will close for all races but someone will stay until the last runner passes through the finishing line. To help minimise disruption, roads will be reopened behind the race from approximately 11am. Please tune into BBC Radio Cambridgeshire at 95.7FM to get live traffic updates on race day.
Q: When and where will the results be published?
A: The results will be available online as soon as possible after the race, they will also be published by the Peterborough Evening Telegraph the Monday after the race.
